Let go into the Moment. Release yourself to What is.
“Silence is the language of God. All else is poor translation” - Rumi
As I sit on the ski lift. The silence in the wintery air is profound. The sun shines so brightly and clearly it feels like it is slicing through everything it touches; the light, out of the darkness carving out the world. The wind blows crisply as I slowly ascend to the top of the hill. There are moments like these that make you deafeningly aware that there is more behind life, thoughts, dreams, wanderings than meets the eye. There are not just our solo will and wants that propel us along up the mountain; there is a collective force that lifts and carries us along. Even if we have no idea why we are where we are at every instant, how we got there, or how to get out, move on, rise up, there is a purpose. The reason will not always unveil itself. It may take days, weeks, months, years, lifetimes, until we understand that everything we endure and experience is there to teach us and help us grow into who we are meant to be at any given moment.
The snow is firm under my feet. I find my grounding as I connect to the mountain. The air is chill as I inhale the sight of the world below me. My heart races. I do not know what this run will bring. As a feel my body moving making changes and adjustments to maintain that connection to the earth. Each moment gives me a renewed sense of wonder at this beautiful world. I have the ability to move myself, to live, to feel exhilaration and satisfaction. Each moment brings a new challenge. Each arc of my ski touches a new patch of untouched snow, ice, bump or rut and I must decide to navigate. Seeing, learning from each new turn or remain stuck in what it was not. I must give myself over to the moment and to let go of what I want the run to be. It will be what it will be regardless of my desire. I can but make choices and decisions to influence the run and then let go of my expectations and then sit with it. Feel it. Live it. Let go to it. Let the silence of each experience within, around, and upon us reveal its wisdom.
